Dr. Steven Yu is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Internal Medicine. He graduated from Washington University In St. Louis with a degree in Economics. Before attending medical school, Dr. Yu was vice president of a startup pharmaceutical company overseas. Dr. Yu then attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina where he had an opportunity to serve as a congressional health fellow in Washington, D.C for the Office of Majority Whip.
Dr. Yu completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Southern California and fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. He has publications in prostate cancer, urothelial cancer, kidney cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, hematologic disorders, and received a research award in 2017. Many research abstracts he was involved with have been presented at American Society of Clinical Oncology, European Society for Medical Oncology, and the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium meetings. Dr. Yu has been a consultant for Reuters News Organization. In 2019, Dr. Yu was profiled in the USC Alumni Newsletter.
Dr. Yu has interests in assisting in medical missions, traveled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti after the devastating Haiti Earthquake, and volunteered at children's hospitals abroad.
